What’s in the shop
John Deere 2640
Complete engine overhaul
(Motor Only)

The customer wanted to save some money so he pulled the engine and we rebuilt the motor. John
Deere D4276 Diesel, (4= 4 Cylinder, 276= Cu in.

At the time these motors were built, I believe this is one of the best engines John Deere ever made.  Today’s replacement metric motors are twice the horse power as these motors but for the weight to horse power ratings at the time these motors were hard to beat.   They were used in irrigation units, industrial equipment and farm machinery.  This motor was brought to us because it was seized and needed some serious attention.

Click here for more photos of this motor.
